Spelling Bees
There are three Spelling Bees for children to complete each year in order to encourage them to learn to spell common exception words and words from the statutory spelling lists from the National Curriculum. It is expected that a child will learn a booklet each term and they are tested by a member of staff by reciting the spellings aloud or writing them down. Children typically complete the booklets for their year group but are able to complete lower booklets if necessary.
There is a small prize for each booklet completed:
Booklet one – a bee pencil
Booklet two – a fluffy bee sticker
Booklet three – afternoon tea with Miss Cull and Mrs Maxwell!
